Windows Vista Performance Tweaks – Tweaks You Can Apply To Boost Windows Vista Performance

By George Tho

Windows Vista performance tweaks - Surely you have heard or experienced some technical flaws with the release of Windows Vista. This would not be surprising for Microsoft OS releases. It has been the same dilemma that users actually experienced when all of the Windows Versions were released. This system is not an exception to this experience. However, Microsoft, together with some other technical gurus, came up with solutions to the most common glitches that users encountered with this new OS. Below are some of the most common Windows Vista performance tweaks.

You may have experienced slow internet connections while listening to audio files or watching movies while downloading. This is actually a performance design for optimization by Vista. What it does is it ensures that your computers CPU has enough power to make sure that your movie or music does not “chop” while playing. Though it sounds fair, users are complaining that their download or network access speeds are being affected. In order to overcome this, Microsoft developed registry keys that can let you customize this feature. It is a part of Vista’s Service Pack 1. You can set the Throttling Value from 1-70. Though, Microsoft explains that anything above 10 can hurt your CPUs performance.

One of the other known Windows Vista performance tweaks would be the ever-famous Defragmenter. This tool is not just a graphical representation of legos moving together to move one straight line, you see. What this feature does is it brings “fragments” close together with one another depending on their likeliness. You can visualize it with people in a theme park. If you and your family are scattered around then it would be difficult for all of you to communicate. This same principle is what brings defragmenter into the picture. The new interface may not be that entertaining as the previous ones but this has a better scheduler that works on your convenience.

One last that you may want to see for yourself would be the Reliability and Performance Monitor. This new feature gives you an idea of how “tired” or “full” your system maybe at a particular time, or real time. It works the same way as the old monitor in XP but this one really is miles better than its predecessor. It contains more, but valuable, information about your computer’s CPU, Disk Drives, Network and Memory. This may give you a hint on when it would be suggested to run an optimization rally for your computer. Registry Cleaners which is a type of third party software also works very well although it is not part of Windows Vista performance tweaks.

Other than using the Windows Vista performance tweaks, find out how you can easily and quickly improve the performance of Windows Vista and resolve errors with reg cleaners with just a few clicks and little or no technical knowledge.
